We are thrilled to represent Bruce Rowe’s collection ASCEND in our Melbourne and Sydney showrooms with a special capsule collection at The Hub General Store. 

Born in 1971, Bruce Rowe lives and works in Melbourne. He is the founder and Creative Director of the Anchor Ceramics studio and recognised as a contributor to contemporary ceramic art and design practice.

Rowe’s sculptures are one-off, highly resolved, geometric slab built constructions. The clay bodies and surface finishes offer a gentle colour palette that enriches their tonal depth.

Rowe continues his exploration of haptics and form in ASCEND. Whilst the works are technically careful and highly resolved they have a paradoxically poetic resonance. Offering multiple viewpoints, the works include stairs, voids, gateways, bridges, corridors and paths of various scale. Rowe’s intimate artwork invites the viewer to look closely, cross thresholds and be curious about the mysterious and unknowable. They suggest ever changing movement toward a source or beginning.

All works in ASCEND are authenticated and signed. Each work is unique, hand built and custom glazed.
